Keeping On Walking: Claire Trindle's Fight for Workers' Rights
Sometimes you just have a feeling … Claire Trindle knew something wasn’t right at her former workplace. It wasn’t until she was two years into the job that Claire and her co-workers put all the pieces together and realized that they were victims of tip skimming, an illegal practice where employers keep a portion of the staff’s tips. In the most recent installment of our new YouTube series “Keep On Walking,” Claire Trindle talks about this discovery. The fight to regain the stolen wages and hold her former employer accountable was stressful for Claire, but through it all she kept on walking. She went on to become an advocate for fair pay and workers rights in the hospitality industry, raising awareness about unjust treatment of tipped workers. Today, she's the owner of her own business - Blind Bear Beverages (@blindbearbeverages), a Philadelphia based Bartending Service that offers tastings, events and take home cocktail kits. In addition to owning her own business, Claire works full-time as taproom manager of Hale & True Cider Co.
